The bad news just continues to pour in for the New York Mets franchise. To go along with their league worst 4-18 record during the month of June, they'll now be without their GM as Sandy Alderson is taking a leave of absence to address his personal health.

Alderson has battled health issues in the past as the Mets GM, in December 2015 he was originally diagnosed with cancer. He says the cancer resurfaced in April and he's began chemotherapy.

At age 70 Alderson isn't sure if and when he'll return from this and in the interim it'll be John Ricco, J.P. Ricciardi and Omar Minaya who will split the role of GM.

"You got to deal with it," Alderson said Tuesday. "It's a matter of rearranging priorities."
