For many UL fans, heading to LSU for the Baton Rouge regional was a foregone conclusion.

Today it was made official.

The Cajuns are the #2 seed in Baton Rouge, and will face Sam Houston State in their first game.  Sam Houston was an at-large selection out of the Southland Conference.

Jackson State, the SWAC champion, is the #4 seed.

LSU (52-9) was awarded the #4 national seed after winning the Southeastern Conference tournament final yesterday.  North Carolina, Vanderbilt and Oregon State were seeded higher than the Tigers.

The Cajuns (41-18) are the #2 seed in a regional for the first time since 2007.  it's their first regional appearance since 2010 when they were the #3 seed in the Austin Regional.

Sam Houston State (37-20) was the Southland regular season champion.  Jackson State (34-20) earned the automatic bid from the SWAC.
