Throughout the season we'll be keeping an eye on not only the Pelicans but the Top 5 in the NBA on a weekly basis, you can check out the entire list here.

The New Orleans Pelicans had a below-average week going 1-3 last week. They began the week with a very solid win at home against the Utah Jazz, then went to Utah, suffered a loss and lost Jrue Holiday to boot. From there it was a loss at home against a very good Toronto Raptors team and then on the road to finish the week in Atlanta against the Hawks.

Despite the 1-3 record, last week New Orleans stayed steady in the Weekly Power Rankings at 22nd and they're 30-39.

Here is this week's Top 5:

  1. Milwaukee Bucks (50-17)-Steady at 1
  2. Golden State Warriors (45-21)-Steady at 2
  3. Toronto Raptors (48-19)-Steady at 3
  4. Houston Rockets (41-25)-Up one from 6
  5. Denver Nuggets (43-22)-Down one from 4

This week New Orleans has three games and they're all at home. They begin the week Tuesday against the Bucks and then enjoy two days off before the Portland Trailblazers (40-26) come into town on Friday night. They finish the week on Saturday against the recently hot Pheonix Suns (16-52) who went 3-1 last week and rose a couple of spots in last weeks poll.
