Our New Orleans Saints are up in Indianapolis as they are set to take on the Colts tonight at 7pm in both team's third preseason game.

For the most part, many savvy football fans know that this is the preseason game that will most closely represent the regular season as the starters will go longer than any other preseason game.

Saints fans are looking forward to the return of quarterback Drew Brees to the playing field. He has missed the team's first two preseason games after straining his oblique earlier in training camp. Expect Brees to play about a half.

New Orleans should see their prized free agent signing from the offseason play for the first time in a preseason game as safety Jarius Byrd should see the field.

This game is very important for a lot of players looking to make the roster. In particular, the back-up quarterback race has been one of the closest to call in all of training camp. Both Luke McCown and Ryan Griffin have been solid in camp and in the preseason.

On Tuesday, August 26 by 4pm the Saints have to trim down their roster to 75 players so several players you see tonight won't be with the team by this time next week.

By the way, the game will be broadcast live here on ESPN 1420. Pregame tonight begins at 5pm with kick-off set for 7pm.

Next Thursday's preseason finale against the Baltimore Ravens can be heard on 97.3 The Dawg. That game is also set for a 7pm kick-off.
