The New Orleans Saints have reached an agreement with receiver/kick returner Chris Williams, who spent the last three seasons with the Hamilton Tiger Cats of the Canadian Football League.

The 25-year old Williams, who played his college football at New Mexico St., signed as an undrafted free agent with the Miami Dolphins in 2009, where he was released after an injury settlement, before being signed by the Cleveland Browns to their practice squad.

The 5-foot-9, 175-pound Williams signed with the Tiger Cats in 2010, joining their practice squad, before moving to the active roster in 2011, when he caught 70 passes for 1,064 yards and six touchdowns, while also contributing 333 return yards.

Williams had an even better year in 2012. catching 83 passes for 1,298 yards and 11 touchdowns, while leading the CFL with 78 punt returns for 1,117 yards and five touchdowns.

Williams was a hold-out with the Tiger Cats this year, and was released from his contract on Wednesday after a lengthy dispute.
