“New” Big East Makes Three Additions

The new Big East, as expected, has announced the addition of three new members for next season.

Butler, who joined the Atlantic 10 this year, Xavier, a long time member of that league and Creighton of the Missouri Valley Conference, will all start play in the new league next season.

That brings the membership of the league to ten schools, joining the so-called Catholic 7:  Georgetown, Marquette, Providence, St. John's, Seton Hall, DePaul and VIllanova.

Speculation still exists more schools may be added, but that is not expected to be done in time for the 2013-14 season.
