Louisiana's Ragin' Cajuns and the LSU Tigers are two of the sixteen remaining teams in the NCAA Softball Tournament, as the Sweet 16 begins Super Regional play this week.

Louisiana won the Lafayette, Louisiana Regional, defeating Mississippi Valley St. once, and Stanford twice, while LSU advanced out of the College Station, Texas Regional, defeating Texas St. once, and the host Texas A&M Aggies twice.

The Cajuns will travel to Tempe, Arizona, to take on the #3 national seed Arizona St. Sun Devils, who were pushed to an "if necessary" game in the Tempe, Arizona Regional by the Syracuse Orange, but came out the regional winner.

LSU will take on the #9 national seed Missouri Tigers in the Super Regionals. Missouri rolled through the Columbia, Missouri Regional unbeaten.

The nation's top-seed, the California Bears, had to win two games on Sunday against the Arkansas Razorbacks, to advance to the Super Regionals, where they will take on fellow Pac-12 foe Washington, who defeated Harvard in the finals of the Seattle, Washington Regional.

We know at least one non-national seed will advance to the Women's College World Series, as South Florida will be hosting Hofstra in the Super Regionals. South Florida won the Gainesville, Florida Regional, taking out the 5th-seeded Florida Gators, and Hofstra shocked the softball world by winning the Los Angeles, California Regional, while 12-th seeded UCLA went winless.

The 4th-seeded Oklahoma Sooners will be hosting the 13th-seeded Arizona Wildcats this weekend. Oklahoma went unbeaten in the Norman, Oklahoma Regional, while Arizona sailed through the Tucson, Arizona Regional undefeated.

The sixth-seeded Texas Longhorns will host the 11th-seeded Oregon Ducks in Austin, Texas this week. Texas had to come through the elimination bracket to win the Austin, Texas Regional, while Oregon went unbeaten in the Eugene, Oregon Regional.

Two SEC teams will square off in Knoxville, Tennessee, as 7th-seeded Tennessee takes on 10th-seeded Georgia. Tennessee came through the elimination bracket to defeat Virginia Tech twice on Sunday in the Knoxville, Tennessee Regional to advance, while Georgia went through the Athens, Georgia Regional untouched.

In Tuscaloosa, Alabama this weekend, second-seeded Alabama will play host to the Michigan Wolverines. Alabama went unbeaten in the Tuscaloosa, Alabama Regional, while Michigan knocked off 15th-seeded Louisville to win the Louisville, Kentucky Regional.
