The NBA released its weekly Power Rankings via ESPN today and the New Orleans Pelicans were on the move.

Last week the Pelicans went 2-1. They defeated the Boston Celtics in Boston in overtime, lost to the Altanta Hawks the next night in ATL, and then beat the Memphis Grizzlies at home. The team sits at, 24-21 overall.

Because of that, the team jumped up two spots in the weekly rankings. They moved up from 17th to 15th heading into a new week.

This week they'll play four games:

  • Monday: vs. Chicago Bulls
  • Wednesday: @ Charlotte Hornets
  • Friday: vs. Houston Rockets
  • Sunday: vs. Los Angeles Clippers

No back-to-back games, and three out of four games will be at the friendly confines of The Smoothie King Center. This has the potential to be a strong week for the Pels.
