Former New Orleans Pelicans head coach and Oklahoma City Thunder assistant Monty Williams lost his wife Ingrid in a tragic car accident several months ago.

Williams, who coached the Pelicans from 2010-2015, is a widower with 5 children, ages 5 to 17. He hasn't coached since the accident, though he did make an appearance at the Thunder playoff game last weekend, sitting in his family's seats.

According to the Oklahoman, Williams will not return to coaching next season, but will "help out" with Team USA for this summer's Olympic games.

Monty is a man of faith, openly sharing his life story and how he came to know Christ in his life. He helped Pelicans forward Ryan Anderson through a personal tragedy when Anderson’s girlfriend committed suicide several years ago.

His eulogy at Ingrid's funeral was beautiful, powerful, and inspirational.
