The LSU Tigers are losing a member of their basketball team.

A native of Bradenton, Florida, Kiir averaged 1.9 points, to go along with 2.0 rebounds, in eight games for the Tigers this past season.

The 6-foot-9 220-pound Kiir was given a "leave of absence" in January and didn't see action the remainder of the season.

The 20-year old Kiir was suspended for the remainder of the season, along with former Breaux Bridge and Lafayette Christian standout Galen Alexander, who has also left the team, while Brandon Rachal and Wayde Sims, were also suspended.

Sims returned, and went on to play in 32 games.

Kiir, Alexander and Sims were in trouble heading into the season. The trio were arrested by campus police in August for shooting a paintball gun at a passing pedestrians on campus.
