The Detroit Tigers have advanced to the American League Championship Series, while the Arizona Diamondbacks, Milwuakee Brewers, St. Louis Cardinals, and Philadelphia Phillies are all desperately trying to advance to the National League Championship series.

The Detroit Tigers qualified for the ALCS on Thursday night, defeating the New York Yankess, 3-2, to win their best-of-five game series, 3-2.

ESPN.com reports that the Tigers got homers from Don Kelly and Delmon Young, while Doug Fister picked up the win on the mound, with Jose Valverde recording the save.

The Tigers will take on the Texas Rangers in the ALCS.
