LSU's defense has been top-notch this season as if you'd expect anything less from a Dave Aranda coached defense. One of the key components to the defense this season has been sophomore safety Grant Delpit.

Early in this season, he's drawn a lot of comparisons to a former LSU safety to do it very successfully before him in Jamal Adams, who now plays for the New York Jets. So far this season Delpit has 27 tackles with 6.5 of them for a loss, three sacks, two interceptions, and three passes defended.

Jamal Adams, who was a top-10 pick in the 2017 NFL draft by those Jets had this to say when he heard about the comparisons:

It seems that Adams isn't taking these comparisons too seriously yet but said there's potential for Delpit to be the player that Jamal said HE IS, very emphatically stating he's still on top and Delpit isn't close to his class. He's still got that confident swagger in his game which made him so successful at LSU and now early in his NFL career.

All Grant Delpit has to do is continue to play his game because he has been sensational thus far which has been a pure joy to watch.
