On Thursday, LSU's sophomore safety Kenan Jones has officially entered the college football transfer portal.

Jones transitioned to safety after playing primarily playing on special teams and back-up wide receiver in 2018.

To this point, Jones would be eligible to redshirt as he's played in only two games in 2019 (Northwest and Texas).

In addition to football, he was also a member of the LSU track and field team where he competed in the long jump.

It's not a surprise to hear the news as Jones was buried on the depth chart behind the likes of Grant Delpit, Todd Harris, JaCoby Stevens, Kary Vincent, and Cameron Lewis for snaps at safety.

Kenan is the second player to leave the program this week as senior running back Lanard Lournette is also leaving the program but not entering the transfer portal.
