Technically we could call it "May Madness" but if we're being realistic most of the action will actually take place in the month of June. It's the NCAA Division 1 Men's Baseball Tournament and action in the Regional Round is set to begin today.

Louisiana is represented by three schools in this year's tournament. Those teams are the nationally ranked LSU Tigers, the Champions of the SWAC Southern University, and the tournament champions of the Southland Conference the McNeese Cowboys.

The LSU Tigers will host a regional at Alex Box Stadium in Baton Rouge. The teams competing in that regional are Southern Miss and Arizona State, they'll face each other today at Noon. Then the host team LSU will face Stony Brook tonight at 6 pm.

Both McNeese and Southern have Noon games in the opening match of their respective regionals.

The Cowboys will face Indiana State in the Nashville Regional hosted by Vanderbilt University. The Ohio State Buckeyes round out the field for the Nashville Regional by the way. They face Vandy tonight at 6 pm.

The Jaguars are in the Starkville Mississippi Regional. They face the host school, Mississippi State, at Noon. That game will be followed by the tilt between the University of Miami and Central Michigan.

Here's the way the brackets shake out for the rest of the tournament field.
