The 16th-ranked LSU Tigers return to action on Saturday, when they play host to the 23rd-ranked Florida Gators in an SEC match-up .

The game, which will be televised on the SEC Network, was originally scheduled to be played on October 8 in Gainesville, Fla., but was postponed due to Hurricane Matthew.

The new date and location came after several days of contentious negotiations involving the two schools and the SEC.

The contest will also be the sixth for the Tigers under the direction of interim head coach Ed Orgeron, who replaced former coach Les Miles, who was fired after the fourth game of the season.

Orgeron is 4-1 as interim head coach, guiding LSU to victories over Missouri, Southern Miss, Ole Miss, and Arkansas, while suffering a loss to top-ranked Alabama.

LSU, who has won six of their last eight, defeated the Arkansas Razorbacks last week, 38-10, to improve to 6-3, overall, and 4-2 in SEC play.

Offensively, the Tigers are averaging 27.4 points, to go along with 404.2 total yards, including 233.6 rushing yards, and 170.7 passing yards-per-game, while allowing 13.9 points, 312.3 total yards, 114.0 rushing yards, and 198.3 passing yards a contest, defensively.

LSU is led by junior quarterback Danny Etling, who has completed 110-of-187 passes for 1,378 yards and seven touchdowns, along with junior running back Leonard Fournette, who has piled up 803 yards, along with eight touchdowns, on 117 carries, and sophomore Derrius Guice, who has compiled 881 rushing yards and nine touchdowns.

Florida, who beat South Carolina Florida last week, 20-7, will enter the match-up at 7-2, overall, and 5-2 in SEC play.

The Gators are averaging 26.2 points-per-game, to go along with 378.1 total yards, including 152.7 rushing yards and 225.4 passing yards, while allowing 13.3 points, 266.8 total yards, including 111.7 rushing yards and 155.1 passing yards.

Florida is paced by sophomore quarterback Luke Del Rio, who has thrown for 1,358 yards and 8 touchdowns, and sophomore running back Jordan Scarlett, who has rushed for 617 yards and six touchdowns.

This will be 63rd meeting between the two schools, with Florida leading the all-time series, 31-28-3, but LSU has won the last three meetings, including a 35-28 victory last year.

Kickoff time at Tiger Stadium in Baton Rouge, La. is set for noon.
