LSU basketball fell at Florida on Saturday 68-62, despite spectacular play from their freshmen star Ben Simmons.

The Gators were too much in the final minutes, hitting clutch shots, amping up their energy in front of a raucous home crowd in Gainesville, in a game they never trailed from start to finish.

Simmons finished with a game-high 28 points and 17 rebounds, good for his 11th double-double of the season. He also had a team-high 4 assists before fouling out with 14 seconds remaining in the contest.

The only negative to Simmons game was 8 turnovers.

The only other Tiger to reach double-figures was guard Keith Hornsby, who chipped in 10 points, but was 0-5 from three point range.

As a team, LSU finished 3-20 from beyond the arc.

"We let a few things that didn't go our way get to us," Hornsby noted after the loss. "We didn't respond in the right way, but that's how it goes on the road."

LSU falls to a disappointing 9-6 with the loss, their first in SEC play (2-1).
