LSU Defeats Houston Baptist, 72-58
The LSU Tiger men's basketball team captured a non-conference win on Friday night, defeating the Houston Baptist Huskies, 72-58, at the Pete Maravich Assembly Center in Baton Rouge.
LSU led at the half, 36-25, and then cruised to the 14-point win.
The victory kept the Tigers undefeated at home, with a 7-0 record.
LSU out-shot Houston Baptist from the field, 43%-33%, and finished the game with a 45-33 rebound advantage.
Shavon Coleman, Andre Stringer, and Jalen Courtney all had 11 points for the Tigers, while Tyler Russell paced the Huskies in a losing cause with a game-high 15 points.
With the victory, LSU improved to 8-2 on the year, while Houston Baptist fell to 4-8.
