#19 LSU picked up a pair of wins last week on the hardwood.

An overtime road win at Mississippi State last Wednesday, followed by a Saturday victory over Auburn at the PMAC in Baton Rouge.

Solid performances by sophomore guard Tremont Waters and freshmen forward Naz Reid were a big reason why.

Today, both were honored by the SEC.

Waters has been named the SEC Player of the Week. The New Haven, Connecticut native averaged 22.5 points, 7.5 assists, 5 steals and 3.5 rebounds in the two wins.

Reid has been named the SEC Freshmen of the Week. The Asbury Park, New Jersey native averaged a double-double of 21 points and 10 boards in the wins. He scored a career-high 29 versus Mississippi State, hitting a game-clinching three pointer late in overtime.

LSU has a huge opportunity Tuesday night when they face #5 Kentucky on the road in a nationally televised game on ESPN at 6pm.
