Loyola-Marymount staged a two out two run rally in the first inning, setting the tempo in a 7-3 win over Louisiana to take the weekend series from the Cajuns.

With two out in the first inning, Brandon Shearer beat out a bunt for a hit and went to third on the first of three doubles by Trevin Esquerra.  Tommy Delgado then followed with a hit up the middle to score both runs.

Austin Perrin (0-2) kept the score 2-0 until the fifth when Cooper Uhl led off with a double and came home on Esquerra's double.  Reliever Blake Schultz walked Tommy Delgado but got Alex Lambeau on a called third strike.  But again, it was the two out hit, this one a double by Ryan Ruley that plated two more runs to make the score 5-0.

Meanwhile, Loyola-Marymount starter Nick Frasso (1-0) faced the minimum over the first four innings before Orynn Veillon got the Cajuns' first hit in the fifth.  Brasso allowed just one hit, with one walk and five strikeouts through his six innings of work.

Loyola (8-7) made the score 7-0 with two more rums in the sixth on a leadoff walk, a steal and a pair of bunts.  Shearer's single and Esquerra's third double scored the final run.

The Cajuns (6-9) finally got something going in the seventh on a single by Brennan Breaux, a walk and a hit batsman.  After Veillon struck out, Kole McKinnon's deep fly ball was misplayed allowing two runs to score.  McKinnon was credited with a sacrifice fly and an RBI.  But that would be all the Cajuns would get in the inning.

Veillon's ninth inning homer, his third of the year, completed the scoring.

The Cajuns will host a pair of mid-week games as New Orleans comes to town Tuesday and Southern Miss on Wednesday.  Both games will be heard on ESPN1420 with pre game beginning at 6:00.
