The Louisiana Ragin' Cajuns basketball team wanted to continue their winning ways as they had won their last 2 games. The Cajuns wanted to run up and down the court on the UTA Mavericks and they were able to do just that in route to a 76-64 victory. The win gives the Cajuns a 16-10 overall record and a 7-6 record in the Sun Belt.

The Cajuns would start out the first strong and fast as they would lead 19-10 after 2 straight 3-pointers and then they would just blow it open after getting a few steals and some more 3-pointers. The Cajuns would get a significant performance from Justin Miller in the first half as he would nearly get a double-double. He finished the first half with 13 points and 9 rebounds. The Cajuns would finish off the first half on a 22-6 run as they would lead 46-21.

Louisiana would start a little slow in the 2nd half allowing the Mavericks to climb back into the game a little bit. Every time the Mavericks would try and get back into the game, the Cajuns would have an answer. The Cajuns would lead by as many as 27 points late in the first half  but they would only win the game by 12. The game wasn't that close as the Mavericks would score a bunch of points in garbage time. Miller would finish the game with 15 points and 12 rebounds while Jerekius Davis led the Cajuns in scoring with 19 points. The Cajuns would be able to close out the game and finish the game to extend their winning streak to 3 games.

Louisiana will look to continue their winning streak when they face off against Texas State on Saturday night. The Cajuns will return home next week to face off against Coastal Carolina on Thursday at 7 pm and then they will play Appalachian State at 1:30 pm on Sunday.
