The United States moved to 2-0 in pool play with a decisive 102-70 win over Puerto Rico Wednesday night at the Pan American Games in Toronto, Canada.

The US had balanced scoring with Bobby Brown leading the way with 16 points.  Denzil Valentine and Damian Wilkins added 15 points each, while Tavean Prince chipped in ten.

Louisiana's Shawn Long saw his first action in the games, scoring five points with one rebound and one steal in ten minutes of action.

The Americans, coached by Gonzaga head coach Mark Few, raced out to a commanding 55-29 lead at halftime and coasted from there.  Puerto Rico, coached by RIck Pitino, was led by Javier Mojica with 15 points.  Gilberto Clavell, who played for Louisiana coach Bob Marlin at Sam Houston state, scored two points in 12 minutes of action for Puerto Rico  Puerto Rico hit just 3-27 from three point range in the game.

With the win, the US clinched a spot in the medal round.  They will meet undefeated Brazil tonight at 8pm to conclude pool play.
