A former local high school football standout continues to try to find his way with the LSU Tigers.

Defensive lineman Tyler Shelvin, who did not make the trip to Gainesville, Florida last Saturday, when LSU took on the Florida Gators, missed practice on Monday.

Shelvin, who was the Tigers' highest-ranked prospect in the 2017 class, had to redshirt last year, after the NCAA partially denied his eligibility.

A former Under Armour All-American in high school, Shelvin  has only played in one game this year, recording one tackle vs. Southeastern Louisiana.

Let's hope Shelvin keeps his weight in check, contributes when he gets a chance, and becomes the type of player he was projected to be.
