Turnovers plagued Louisiana's Ragin' Cajuns women's basketball team in their season opener Monday night. As a result, they dropped to 0-1 after losing to LSU-Shreveport 63-50.

Senior Mercedes Johnson scored 14 points to lead the Cajuns. Kemi Rotibi finished with a double-double, scoring 10 points and pulling down 14 boards.

Despite the efforts of Johnson and Rotibi, 23 turnovers was too much for the Cajuns to overcome.

The Lady Cajuns will look to bounce back this Thursday at 7:00 p.m. when they host Nicholls State in a non-conference game at Earl K. Long Gym.
