A familiar face has rejoined the Louisiana Ragin' Cajun coaching staff.

Acadiana's own Lacy Prejean is returning to Louisiana, as an assistant on coach Gerry Glasco's staff.

A native of Scott, Prejean was a prep standout at Carencro High School, before playing her college softball at Alabama, where she helped the Crimson Tide to two appearances in the Women's College World Series.

A member of Louisiana’s coaching staff from 2005-07, Prejean helped guide the Cajuns to three NCAA Tournament appearances, and was instrumental in directing and implementing the program’s fall season camps.

Following the 2007 season, Prejean returned to Alabama, where she served as the director of operations for two seasons, experiencing two more trips to the WCWS.

Prejean left Alabama following the 2008 season, and entered the private sector, but remained active in the softball community, serving as a travel ball coach for Diamond Sports Hotshots from 2014-17.

Expected to work with the catchers, while also instructing the defense, Prejean joins associate head coach Mike Roberts as additions to the UL coaching staff.

Welcome back Lacy!
