Former LSU pitcher Kevin Gausman has been named the opening day starting pitcher for the Baltimore Orioles.

A native of Centennial. Colorado, Gausman played his college baseball at LSU from 2011-2012, prior to being selected by the Orioles with the fourth overall pick in the 2012 Major League Baseball Draft.

With at LSU, Gausman earned first team All-SEC and All-American honors in 2012, after going 12-2 with a 2.77 ERA.

The 26-year old Gausman, who made his MLB debut in 2013, went 9-12 last season, to go along with a 3.61 ERA.

Over parts of four MLB seasons, Gausman has accumulated an overall record of 23-31 with a 3.97 ERA.

A right-hander, this will be Gausman's first opening day start.
