Receiver Keith Kirkwood will be returning to the New Orleans Saints, following an 8-game absence.

The Saints have designated Kirkwood, who practiced with the team on Wednesday, to return off the injured reserved list.

The 25-year old Kirkwood, who caught 13 passes for 209 yards and two touchdowns as a rookie with the Saints last season, went down with a hamstring injury during warmups of the Saints' game against the Los Angeles Rams prior to Week 2.

Kirkwood, who played his college football at both Hawaii and Temple, appeared in 8 games for the Saints last season, including one as a starter.
