After losing to Texas 23-0 on Saturday, Kansas has fired head coach Charlie Weis.

He was in the third year of a five year contract and won only one Big 12 game during his tenure.

Weis was 6-22 at Kansas and won only three games against FBS competition.  The Kansas offense has struggled, scoring only three points in its last two games; losses to Duke and Texas.

Weis cleaned house when he got the job at Kansas, getting rid of 29 players.  He was never able to make up any of the numbers in recruiting despite bringing an influx of junior college players into the program.

Weis is owed another seven million dollars at KU.  Defensive coordinator Clint Bowen will take over as interim coach.  Weis is the second straight coach at Kansas to be fired during a season.  Turner Gill was let go during the 2011 season.

Meanwhile, the seat gets hotter for Michigan coach Brady Hoke.  The Wolverines lost to Minnesota in Ann Arbor, dropping its record to 2-3.  It's the first time Michigan has had three losses by the end of September for the first time in program history.

The crowd booed Hoke and chanted for him and athletic director Dave Brandon during the 30-14 loss to the Golden Gophers.
