Jordan Spieth Wins Brutal US Open In Fitting Fashion

Jordan Spieth claimed the US Open after Dustin Johnson three putted on the 18th green with a chance to win. How fitting.

The US Open is supposed to be the hardest test on the tour, and the PGA made sure it reached that bar. They may have exceeded it. Spieth won with a score of (-5) for the whole Open. Others, like Tiger Woods, registered some of the worst rounds of their professional golf career. Johnson sat on the 18th green with a putt within sinking distance for eagle. The course at Chambers Bay decided to serve him a brutal ending.

Spieth openly admitted he was mentally preparing for a playoff the following day when he watched Johnson lining up his putt. Instead, he watched him miss the putt to win and the one to tie it as well. Normally, a collapse like that would be near unbelievable. Unfortunately at this US Open, it was par for the course. Pun fully intended.

The recent Masters Champion can add a US Open title into his growing trophy case. At the age of 21, this is scary. Chambers Bay broke many golfers over the week, but not Spieth.

The player that his tour mates say acts well beyond his years proved yet again that no moment is too big. As bad as Dustin Johnson probably feels about giving it away at the end, nobody should be surprised that it's Spieth yet again raising some hardware.
