UFC Light-Heavyweight Champion Jon "Bones" Jones was stripped of his title and suspended indefinitely by the UFC after he turned himself in for a felony hit-and-run.

Albuquerque Police Spokesman Tanner Tixier reported the injuries from the incident. Things could be worse, for sure, but Jones still inflicted some damage needing immediate medical attention.

"The preliminary statement that the woman suffered 'non-serious' injury was not entirely accurate," Tixier said. "She did suffer a broken arm. That is confirmed."

Lafayette Native Daniel Cormier will take his place in UFC 187, coming up on May 23rd. Jones is the first UFC fighter to be stripped of his title for disciplinary reasons, and someone will have to step up in his absence. Will it be Cormier? All of Acadiana certainly hopes so.

Jones and Cormier had a long-running and well documented feud heading up to their championship bout. Cormier and Jones don't like each other. Cormier had no initial comment to ESPN 1420 when asked about taking Jones' spot in the upcoming UFC event.
