The starting left tackle on the New Orleans Saints Super Bowl championship team is returning to the team that drafted him in 2007.

Offensive lineman Jermon Bushrod, 33, will sign with the Saints, according to Nick Underhill of The Advocate.

Drafted in the 4th round out of Towson, Bushrod spent his first six seasons with the Saints, playing in two Pro Bowls (2011, 2012).

In 2013, the Chicago Bears inked him to a $35 million dollar deal, serving as their left tackle for several years.

After his time in the Windy City, Bushrod signed with the Miami Dolphins, moving to right guard, starting all 16 games.

Last season, he re-signed with Miami, starting at right guard again until a foot injury ended his season in week 11, sending him to injured reserve.

Bushrod's familiarity with the Saints offense and ability to play either guard or tackle spot on the offensive line will help replace the departure of versatile offensive lineman Senio Kelemete, who signed with the Houston Texans yesterday.

Bushrod will be one of three members on the Saints next season who were on the 2009 Super Bowl team. The others are quarterback Drew Brees and punter Thomas Morstead.
