Louisiana quarterback Anthony Jennings' appeal for another year of eligibility has been denied by the NCAA, according to a story by Tim Buckley of The Advertiser.

The decision was not unexpected.  Jennings appeal was based on Jennings' junior season at LSU when he was the backup to starter Brandon Harris.  He appeared in two games that season in mop-up duty, accumulating no rushing or passing statistics.

NCAA rules give a student-athlete five years to play four, and Jennings' appeal could have been successful had his inactivity been caused by injury.

Sophomore Dion Ray, junior Jordan Davis and redshirt freshman Jake Arceneaux are the only quarterbacks on the Cajuns' roster.  Louisiana has also received two high school quarterback commitments and are believed to also be looking to sign a quarterback with experience.
