There are things that might not be illegal, but they certainly aren't the safest or smartest things to do.

Yesterday, we witnessed something that, though not illegal, might not be the smartest thing to do.

Yes, I noticed the sticker in the back window, and the irony is not lost on me.

We waited to snap the pic when the dog had its head down so as to protect the innocent.

There was a bill that passed the Louisiana Senate in 2014 that would have made it illegal to travel on the interstate with an "unsecured" pet in the back of a pick-up truck, but our then-governor vetoed the bill.

Look, I get it, your dog is trained. We do live in "Sportsman's Paradise", and it's very convenient to head to the camp or the lease to hunt and have your dog "load up".

For the ride home, when Roux is wet and muddy, you certainly don't want him or her in the back seat of your F-250, right? Your dog is trained to stay in the bed of the truck, right?

I understand the arguments for and against having a dog (or any other animal) loose in the back of a truck.

But: what happens if your vehicle is involved in a crash?
