Isaac Forces Postponement of Nicholls/Oregon St.

The Nicholls State Colonels were scheduled to travel to Corvallis, OR this weekend to take on Oregon State of the Pac-10, but Hurricane Isaac has forced the game to be postponed.

Lafourche and Terrebone parishes were hit hard by strong winds and heavy rains.  Up to 60,000 residents of the two parishes are without power.

Classes at Nicholls State are cancelled through the rest of the week.  The team was scheduled to leave Friday morning.

The two schools will work together to try to find a date for a makeup.  Neither team is scheduled to play Dec. 1, but that date could be a problem if Nicholls State qualifies for the FCS playoffs or OSU reaches the Pac-12 title game.
