A local prep football standout will be playing his future college football for a school that has one of the best mascots in the entire country.

Luke Doucet, who attends Iota High School, gave a verbal pledge to play for the Arkansas Monticello Boll Weevils over the weekend.

A Division II school, Arkansas-Monticello does not offer athletic scholarships, but they do offer spots of their roster.

A star running back at Iota, Doucet reportedly visited such schools as Louisiana Tech and Arkansas Tech during the recruiting process.

The 5-foot-8, 210-pound Doucet, who is scheduled to graduate high school this spring, helped lead Iota to a 6-3 record in the 2019 high school football regular season.
