The Cleveland Indians have a couple of injured outfielders and took a step toward rectifying their situation, acquiring outfielder Jay Bruce from the New York Mets for a minor leaguer.

With Lonnie Chisenhall and Michael Brantley both on the disabled, the Indians felt it was necessary to bolster their outfield.  Bruce brings plenty to the table, as he's slugged 29 homers and driven in 75 runs on the season.  The Indians outfield has combined for only 37 homers this season.

The Mets receive Class A ,minor league pitcher Ryder Ryan in return.  Cleveland will pick up the remaining $4.2 million of Bruce's $13 million dollar salary.
