The New Orleans Hornets (27-50) snapped their eight-game road losing streak with a 95-92 victory over the Phoenix Suns (23-54) Sunday night.

Two days after being benched following a shouting match with coach Monty Williams, Hornets guard Eric Gordon (pictured) scored 17 points and dished out 6 assists. Many of his buckets were timely and clutch, as were his free throws (7-8).

Speaking of free throws, New Orleans was terrific from the charity stripe, going 27-29. Hornets rookie Anthony Davis was 8-8 from the foul line, and finished with a game-high 20 points.

New Orleans rode a dominant 3rd quarter to propel them to the win, outscoring the Suns 35-19 in the third frame.

"Our defense was really good in the third quarter," said Williams. "Our bench did really well, which is something we haven't done in awhile."

Ryan Anderson came off the pine to register a double-double of 17 points and 10 rebounds in 35 minutes of play.

New Orleans 5-game road trip continues Tuesday night in Los Angeles. Tip-off versus the Lakers is set for 9:30.
