On the day the Hornets learned they lost David West for the season, New Orleans went into Phoenix and won for the fifth time in their last seven games. Carl Landry, starting at PF for the injured West, scored 19 points, helping the Hornets beat the Suns 106-100.

Chris Paul led all scorers with 22. Ariza chipped in with 16, while Jarrett Jack and Willie Green picked up the bench scoring with 32 points between them.

New Orleans is now a half game back of the Portland Trail Blazers for the sixth spot in the Western Conference. Memphis lost Friday night, giving the Hornets a two game cushion between the Grizzlies and the 8 spot.
