Willie Green set a franchise record in the 4th quarter Friday night when he made his 12th FG in as many attempts. New Orleans 6th man finished with 31 points, helping the home team Hornets rip the Suns 109-97. Here is more from the AP and espn.com.

"I knew I was in a rhythm. I knew I was in a zone," Green said. "But I didn't know I was 12 for 12. It was a good feeling. I had it going and I was trying to keep it going. I was just trying to be aggressive."

He finally missed, failing to even hit the rim when he tried to draw a foul on Phoenix's Jared Dudley with less than 5 minutes left. He missed his next four shots as well, finishing 12 for 17 -- including 5 for 6 on 3s.

"I don't know if you say en fuego or caught fire," New Orleans coach Monty Williams said. "Whatever the term was, he got hot tonight and was rolling."

Trevor Ariza added 21 points for the Hornets, Carl Landry scored 17 and Chris Paulhad 12 assists as the Hornets tied Portland for sixth place in the Western Conference.

It would be impossible not to be happy for Willie Green. After his family tragedy earlier in the season, it's nice to see him enjoying his job. Now the Hornets need to focus on the Memphis Grizzlies. At this point, the best playoff position for New Orleans is the 6th seed. A win at Memphis  Sunday will bring them a step closer to achieving that goal.
