Simone Biles' quest to win five gold medals came to an end in Rio after finishing third in the balance beam.

Biles won the bronze after nearly falling off the beam during her routine.  America's Laurie Hernandez won the silver medal behind Sanne Weavers of the Netherlands.

Elsewhere, America's Allyson Felix was nosed out at the end as Shaunae Miller of the Bahamas dove over the finish line to take the gold medal in the women's 800 meters.  Felix had to settle for the silver medal.

Clayton Murphy won a bronze medal in the men's 800 meters, Emma Coburn won a bronze in the 3000m Steeplechase.  Sam Kendricks took home a bronze in the pole vault, while Brazil won their first track and field gold as Thiago Braz da Silva set a new Olympic Record with a vault of 19' 9 1/4"

Speaking of Brazil, they defeated the US in the quarterfinals of men's beach volleyball, winning in three sets.
