Alonzo Harris Named To Doak Walker Watch List

Another Louisiana Ragin' Cajun football player has been named to a prestigious award watch list.

Senior running back Alonzo Harris is on the watch list for the Doak Walker Award, given to the nation's top running back.

Harris, a native of Gadsden, AL is coming off his best statistical season, having rushed for 942 yards and 14 touchdowns a year ago.  In his three year career, Harris has amassed 2,523 yards on 532 carries (4.74 yards per carry) and 32 rushing touchdowns. He is fourth on the all-time career rushing list and needs just 320 yards to pass Michael Desormeaux for third place.  His 32 rushing touchdowns trails only Tyrell Fenroy and Brian Mitchell.

Harris and the Ragin' Cajuns open their 2014 season August 30th when they face Southern University at Cajun Field.
