SI Says Cajuns Will Dance

Preseason polls, when you get down to it, mean nothing.

And, depending on where you look and which preseason prediction you put your stock in, your team may or may not be near the top of the league you follow.

Now that the disclaimer has been mentioned, this could be a fun year for Ragin' Cajuns basketball....especially if you put your stock in what Sports Illustrated has to say.

SI has picked the Cajuns as the top team in the Sun Belt Conference and projects the Cajuns to be in the NCAA Tournament as a #14 seed.playing #3 Florida in a first round game.

The Cajuns were listed as #107 overall.

Louisiana was one of eight Sun Belt schools listed between 100-200 in their ranking of the 351 Division I schools. Defending regular season champion UTA 9126), Georgia State (134_, Georgia Southern (147), Arkansas State (149), defending tournament champion Troy (155), Texas State (179) and Coastal Carolina (185) join the Cajuns in that group.

Louisiana will play Millsaps College in their annual exhibition game this Thursday night before opening the season at Ole Miss on November 10th.
