Former Louisiana Ragin' Cajun defensive back Tracy Walker still ranks in the top ten in the NFL in solo tackles, despite his team already having a bye week.

Currently a member of the Detroit Lions, Walker recorded 7 tackles, including 5 solo stops, in a 23-22 setback to the Green Bay Packers on Monday night.

Walker compiled 9 tackles in an opening-week 27-27 tie with the Arizona Cardinals in Week 1, before accumulating 10 more stops in a 13-10 win over the San Diego Chargers in Week 2, five more tackles in a  27-24 win over the Philadelphia Eagles in Week 3, and then 12 more tackles in a Week 4 loss to the Kansas City Chiefs..

His 43 tackles rank Walker tied for 6th in the NFL among defensive backs, while his 37 solo stops rank him 6th in the entire league, and second among defensive backs, behind only Landon Collins, who has compiled 39.

Even more impressive, the Lions have already had a bye week, meaning Walker has played one less game than all of those above him on the list.

Last season, Walker, who played for the Cajuns from 2014-2017, had a solid rookie campaign for Detroit, after being selected by the Lions in the third round of the 2018 NFL Draft, compiling 21 tackles, to go along with an interception and two passes defended.

A native of Brunswick, Georgia, Walker compiled 97 tackles and two interceptions in 2017 as a senior at UL and finished his stellar collegiate career with 276 tackles and 8 interceptions over 50 games.
