A former Louisiana Ragin Cajun baseball standout recently received his trophy for an honor that he won last season.


Trahan, who received the award for being the best defensive player at his position last season, plays for the Louisville Bats, the AAA affiliate of the Cincinnati Reds.

A native of Kinder, La., Trahan, the 2015 Sun Belt Conference Player of the Year, appeared in 11 games for the Reds last September, collecting three hits in 14 at-bats, while scoring twice.

A 3rd-round draft choice of the Reds in 2015, Trahan has hit a .245, to go along with 2 home runs, and 31 runs batted in last season for Louisville, the Reds' AAA affiliate.
