Former Louisiana Ragin' Cajun softball assistant coach TJ Hubbard has a new job a little closer to Louisiana.

The head coach at Utah Valley St. for the past three seasons, Hubbard is expected to be named the new head coach at UTEP.

Hubbard worked as an assistant for Louisiana from 2014-2015, helping the program to a Women's College World Series appearance in 2014, the sixth in program history.

A 2002 graduate of Oklahoma Wesleyan University in Bartlesville, Oklahoma, Hubbard was a three-year letter winner for the baseball team as a second baseman.

After spending the first years of his college softball coaching career at Seminole State College in Seminole, Oklahoma, Hubbard served as an assistant coach at North Texas for four years, before becoming that program's head coach in 2008.

As head coach, Hubbard guided the Mean Green to an overall record of 161-161 over six seasons, from 2008-2013, before joining the staff at UL.

Following his two-year stint with the Cajuns, Hubbard served as an assistant coach with Kansas in 2016 prior to becoming head coach at Utah Valley St.

During his three-year stint as head coach at Utah Valley St., Hubbard guided the Wolverines to an overall record of 52-86.

Hubbard takes over a UTEP program that went 17-33 in 2019, to go along with a 10-14 mark in Conference USA play.
