A former New Orleans Saints' running back found a new home on Thursday, signing a contract with the Seattle Seahawks.

C.J. Spiller, who played just over one season with the Saints, signed a one-year free agent deal with the Seahawks, who will be without injured starter Thomas Rawls for a few weeks.

The 29-year old Spiller, was released by the Saints on September 13, two after being inactive for the regular season opener against the Oakland Raiders.

A native of Lake Butler, Florida, Spiller played in 13 games for the Saints last year, after signing a four-year, $16 million deal with the team in the offseason.

He was a disappointment, rushing for only 112 yards, to go along with 239 receiving yards.

A first round draft choice by Buffalo in 2010, Spiller played five seasons for the Bills, including 2012, when he was named to the Pro Bowl for the only time in his career.
