Former Super Bowl MVP Mark Rypien was arrested on suspicion of domestic violence involving his wife yesterday, according to Washington County Jail records.

The former Washington Redskins quarterback faces one misdemeanor count of fourth-degree assault.

He was booked last night at 6:30 in Spokane, Washington.

According to KHQ-TV, Rypien and his wife were interviewed separately by police for 45 minutes before he was cuffed and arrested.

Rypien, who played 11 seasons in the NFL and won two Super Bowls, pleaded not guilty today to the charge.
