Former Carencro High School roundball standout Ava Jones is off to a quick start for the LSU Eunice Bengals in the 2019-2020 women's college basketball season.

A 5-foot-5 sophomore, Jones is averaging 17.0 points, to go along with 3.5 rebounds, 2.5 assists, and 2.0 steals-per-game, while helping LSUE, an NJCAA Division II school, to a 2-1 start.

Jones scored 26 points in an opening night win over Illinois Central College, before totaling 8 points in a 77-69 setback to Pensacola St. College, and then 25 in an 85-75 win over Copiah-Lincoln.

Jones is one of five players from the Acadiana area on the Bengals roster this season, joining Harmony Chavis (Lafayette-Northside), Stacie White (Eunice), Miya McKinney (Ville Platte), and Whitney Landry (Iota).
