Former Louisiana Ragin' Cajun cornerback Melvin White has signed a reserve/future contract with the Minnesota Vikings, the team announced today.

White made headlines in his rookie year when he made the Carolina Panthers 53 man roster as an undrafted free agent who did not get invited to the NFL Combine.

In 2 seasons with the Panthers, White played in 30 games, starting 17, registering 80 tackles, 4 passes defensed, 3 interceptions, and 1 touchdown. He also appeared in 3 postseason games.

After being released by Carolina in the preseason with an injury settlement, White signed with the St. Louis Rams practice squad in mid September, spending the remainder of the season there.
