Former Louisiana Ragin' Cajun cornerback Charles Tillman has won the most prestigious off the field award offered by the NFL as he has been named the Walter Payton "Man of the Year."

Tillman just completed his eleventh season playing for the Chicago Bears.  He played for the Ragin' Cajuns from 1999-2002.

Tillman's Cornerstone Foundation has impacted more than 370,000 children in the Chicago area, supplying pediatric hospital patients with iPad's, laptops, gaming systems and other forms of entertainment to help children pass the time while hospitalized.  His fund has also distributed over $1 million to help underprivileged families.

Tillman and his wife Jackie have also built a school in Cambodia and have purchased more than 700 tickets to Bears home games since 2008.

In accepting the award, an emotional Tillman said the award means even more since he, like Payton, has been a member of the Bears' organization.
