Ford Introduces Battery-Powered Mustang [Video]

I’m not sure how Carroll Shelby would react to this, were he still with us. “Mustang SUV.” That, somehow, sounds oxymoronic to me. When I heard Ford was introducing an electric Mustang, I thought, "Okay." Tesla makes a badass sports car.

The Ford Mustang is one of America’s most iconic muscle cars. I was recently driving down Verot School Road alongside a beautiful ‘69 Mustang Mach-1. It had that throaty exhaust, mag wheels, rear window louvers, and a spoiler. It was hard to keep my eyes on the road. Ford just unveiled an electric crossover SUV, and christened it “Mustang Mach E.”

The guy in the attached video says Ford has been playing fast and loose with its name badges lately. I agree. This new vehicle reportedly won’t lack for performance. That being said, calling it Mustang and trying to conjure up the image of the classic Mach-1 seems wrong.
